It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream

Hey guys! My mom first told me about this product – she’s seen It Cosmetics on QVC and got a small sample of this. So when I got an order for 5x points on It Cosmetics at Ulta, I purchased this. Keep reading to see what I thought about it.

The price: $38 for 1.08 fl oz. There is a 0.406 fl oz travel size for $15. My mom bought an extra-large one from QVC for $60, which had about 2.5 fl oz and seems to be exclusive to QVC.

The shade range: Fair, Light, Medium, Tan, Rich. These shades can adjust a bit to fit multiple skin tones (though are by no means perfect). I wear the shade Light. There are no shades for different undertones.

The claims:

This highly pigmented multi-tasking beauty miracle truly covers everything, will not crease or crack in fine lines, and gives you a healthy, Your Skin But Better® glow. Paraben-free and SPF 50+ UVA/UVB Broad Spectrum, Physical Only, Non-Chemical Sunscreen.

The packaging: It’s a tube with a pump, which is easy to use. I feel like this will also be easy to get the last of the product out, too. The tube seems to start looking half-empty pretty quickly, but I don’t think there’s much you can do to get around it.

The tube is mostly silver and gray packaging. They use a couple different finishes to make some areas stand out more. The chrome finish on the cap and pump can show smudges easily, but they can wipe off with a tissue. The grayish plastic on mine is beginning to pucker or crack or something so it doesn’t seem to be quite so flexible. There is an area that shows the color of the product inside, and I honestly can’t tell if it’s clear or just a skin toned plastic.100_3556

The application: Super easy to apply! I usually use about 1 to 2 pumps for my whole face. I’ll usually dot it on my skin with my fingers, and then buff it in with either my fingers or a flat-top foundation brush. I’ve never tried it with a Beauty Blender for some reason, probably because I never think to use a beauty sponge for BB/CC creams, and have recently heard that it may not be good to use because of the sunscreen. I’m not sure if that’s true.

I usually wait a couple minutes to put any other makeup on top of this, to let the sunscreen settle into my skin. I’ll do my eye makeup during this time, usually. And because this is a CC cream and not a foundation, it doesn’t really need a primer or setting powder (I’ve heard that it includes an ingredient that works as a primer). So that means that it’s faster to apply than regular foundation.

The scent: You notice the fresh lemon kind of scent when applying. It seems vaguely like a lemon cleaner, like Pine Sol or something, but in a good way. It’s not really a bad scent, more unexpected than anything else, and doesn’t linger.

The finish and coverage: It’s a pretty full coverage (so rare for a CC cream, especially at this SPF). I apply it in one main layer, then touch up any areas that need a bit more coverage (from acne and dark under eye circles). I’ve never found a good way to really make it all that buildable after a point, either by applying right after the first layer or by waiting for it to settle. It’s a natural finish leaning on the dewier side.

I think the Light shade may be a tiny bit too dark for me, and the undertone is off. Using a tinted setting powder can help. The range is pretty basic, and while it does have some flexibility to match shades, expect that it could happen to you.100_3558

The wear: This actually wears very well. It’s formulated to not crease, including around places like laugh lines. At the end of the day/ after what is usually ten to twelve hours, it only is beginning to break up in those areas.

If you do plan on using this as your daily sunscreen, you have to reapply every two hours, though, like you would any other kinds of sunscreens. Which is why there are no claims about being long-lasting. But there are so many products that claim they’re long-lasting and just fail completely, so it’s great finding one that is better than expected!

The longer-lasting benefits: It’s hard to say if anything is visible yet. I’ve been using this product for about two months now, and I use this on its own (rather than foundation) probably about half the time. I’ll usually mix it into my normal foundation, too. I’m 22, so the anti-aging benefits are more preventative. I also am doing more with my skincare routine, so I don’t really know if the extra hydrating effects are from this or other products.

The verdict: Love! This is the base product I brought with me on spring break, because it’s so easy to use and great on the skin. It’s a perfect everyday product when you don’t want the hassle of foundation.
